Progress on the ’51
Starting from the ground up, work has been flat out getting the pan to where it is now. Bobby wasted no time in chopping out the rust and welding in the fresh metal. Reconditioning some of the period parts from the old pan, enabled the original split seat runners to be reused on this one… (result!) And with some original reclining pre55 seats in place things are starting to take shape!
Lots of the other jobs are rapidly getting ticked off the list as remaining parts and necessary metal gets purchased! Pan is now painted which is a big stepping stone… Volksworld is on the horizon 😎 Matty

An update on Bazs’ plans for the Adventurewagen.
It’s time for a little update on my big plans for the Adventurewagen.
The original plan was to buy the bus, get it running then just use it at stock height for this year and chip away at the work when I had time, luckily I realised this was a stupid idea and in reality I would strip it to pieces where it would probably sit for years whilst work and family life took over!
With this in my mind I made a call to Ben Lewis down at Evil Bens. If I’m honest it was more out of curiosity than anything else as I thought he would be either too busy or just not interested in my crazy green bay with its random vents and weird split bumper happily I couldn’t have been more wrong and after lots of phone calls and emails to agree a plan the bus is now safely tucked up at Ben’s unit, I don’t want to give too much away but it will be low the vents are staying (sort of) and the wheels are far from a straight forward fit.
The whole thing is going to be powered by a 2276cc motor built and detailed by Stef Rossi with a custom gear box from bears so even though it’s got an upside down boat on its roof and a full camping interior, it should eat up the miles with ease so roll on the summer!

Knowing Bens extremely high standard of work and after seeing a few previous bay builds… This will be one epic bus!
A busy start to 2014

The Road trip – Delivery & Collection
Selling his pride and joy was a sad event, but knowing he had something special to replace it with made the job a little easier.
Matty & I drove to Belgium Tuesday night to deliver his oval to Francois in Tournai. The car has gone to a good home where it now lives with 4 other ovals. One of which is a uk rhd rag top. Still in original paint and slammed on fuchs. Matty & I would like to thank the guys for their hospitality.
After this we drove Rotterdam where we hooked up with our friend Reinoud Valk, he then drove the landrover with the trailer all the way to the north of The Netherlands where the new ride lived. Nice on Valk, matty really appreciated the rest from driving!
The new ride was even better in the flesh, boxes of spares, original bumpers, spare pre 55 H valence, correct rear lights & not forgetting the awesome patina.
Thanks got to Valk for letting us crash at his and for the awesome night in Rotterdam.
