Westfalia SO33 Sub hatch

So with Si selling the oval, it was time to look for the new project.

“I first heard about this bus while we were in Spa. I got a picture message sent to me by Gareth Smith.
Well that was it, I had been looking for an original pint bus for some time. But nothing had come up “just right”.

The bus is a 1962 SO33 Westfalia in original paint Mouse Grey and Pearl White. The interior is amazingly complete and along having a sub hatch (all so33 had a sub hatch) I had to have it.

A couple of weeks passed and after looking at the same old photos I had to go and view it. i’ll let the photos tell you the rest. 

Its completely original and is now having a new rear corner and batter tray courtesy of Matt Smitt (Smiths VW Cornwall).

Im sure looking at most of our club cars you will be able to guess how close this bus will sit to the floor….
